Far too many home and craft brewers steer away from Cluster based on false information and/or experience with poorly handled Cluster. Fresh, whole cone Cluster produces an outstanding single-hop American-style IPA. I like to think of Cluster as the "C" hop with attitude and bite. Cluster has been with us since the 17th century when Dutch settlers living in the Hudson Valley bred imported cultivars with native cultivars. No hop cultivar lasts the better part of 400 years without having redeeming qualities. I have used a lot of Cluster since I started brewing in early 1993. It is clear to me that Puterbaugh Farms has an encyclopedic level of knowledge of this cultivar.
