Pickled Hop Shoots
These tender hop shoots are harvested by hand here on the farm in the Yakima Valley; when the young immature vines are just emerging from the soil. They make a delicious garnish or tasty hors-d' oeurvres! An excellent gourmet gift. Here are a few tasty ways to enjoy our Pickled Hop Shoots:
- Try them as a good variation on traditional dip recipes
- Creat a pasta, potato or Hop Salad, and use the brine in your vinaigrette recipe
- Excellent with any cheese, especially pepper jack and cheddar
- Wonderful as a martini or bloody mary garnish
- Great stuffer/side dressing for Salmon dishes
- Wrap with thin slices of meat and cream cheese
- Makes a wonderful addition to herbal or spent grain bread recipes.
- Snip and add to cheese balls and garnish
- Blue cheese and hop shoot Omelet
- Use in stuffing's for chicken, turkey, or pork
- Nice additions to relishes and chutneys
- Brine also makes a great marinade
